- A new study finds that pets are passing a superbug to humans. According to LiveScience.com: “The superbug, a strain of bacteria known as MRSA, has evolved a resistance to antibiotics. It has long plagued hospitals but in recent years has become more common in homes. MRSA has even invaded beaches. Only about two years ago, scientists began to seriously suspect pets were transmitting the bacteria.” Researchers determined that infections can be transmitted by animal bites with young children being the most at risk.

- Dog surfing is becoming the hot new sport! Canines competed over the weekend at the fourth annual surf-dog competition put on by the Loews Coronado Bay Resort.
- While the travel industry is battered by the recession, the Chicago Tribune finds that luxury pet hotels are picking up clients and expanding across the nation.
- Scottish dog owner starts campaign for canine blood donors after his struggle to find a donor for his own sick pet. Although Jeremy Stockton’s dog was saved, a blood donation had to be flown in from London as none could be found in Scotland.
